App pays rewards for chats and calls

I carry a bunch of loyalty cards on my keyring because I like the rewards concept. If I’m going to buy gas, groceries and restaurant food, why not get a bonus for doing it?

Now a service called Hiipe wants to extend the rewards idea to things people do on their mobile phones. When people use the Hiipe app to call or chat with friends, they earn points like they do with loyalty programs.

The Hiipe rewards enter users into prize raffles.  Some of the prizes displayed on the Hiipe website include gift cards from businesses such as Walmart, Gap, Apple Uber and Lyft. Hippe says it plans to also offer discounts from participating merchants.

The Hiipe mobile app is available for free in the Apple Apps Store for iOS devices and in the Google Play Store for Androids.
