That’s why everyone in these parts makes time to check the weather conditions and forecasts on their smart phone while trying to think of something clever yo say about the weather. They should check out Weather Quote, an Android app that delivers current weather data, a concise forecast and a snappy quote, all on one screen.
The app can fetch weather data for anywhere on the globe, from Montreal to Mumbai and any place in between. You get the current temperature and sky conditions, predicted high and low temps, wind speed and direction plus humidity and barometric pressure readings. Weather Quote also lets users compile a list of the locations that you check frequently.
The details appear on a single page, so there’s no scrolling or searching to find them. Want the forecast for the next three hours or 16 days? Both options are one click away.
And then there are the quotes. Each page includes an interesting quote about the weather. It might be something from literature about finding the fortitude to weather the storm or a cabdriver’s salty description of a New York summer.
Maybe you have better quip? The app includes a form where users can submit their own comments, whether it’s original or something they remember. If the app’s developer likes the quote, it will appear in the app.
I plan to submit a quote that is usually attributed, apparently erroneously, to Mark Twain:
The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.
