It took me a while, but I eventually discovered that my smartphone camera could be useful for a lot more than taking photos of kids and sunsets. I use it to shoot items and product descriptions in stores, code labels on paint cans, purchase receipts, pages from books and anything else that I don’t want to forget or keep around as paperwork clutter.
The problem is, those utilitarian images get mixed in with selfies, family pictures and the hundreds of other photos in my mobile gallery. An app called Utiful appears to have a solution to gallery clutter.
Utiful creates a separate gallery for those work and project images that don’t belong with images of grandma and the cats. With a Utiful gallery, those project snaps are collected in separate gallery and organized into topic folders where they are easy to find when you need them.
One user on the Utiful website tells how he uses the app to collect ideas for a bathroom remodeling job. Another says she photographs sticky notes and flip charts to collect ideas floated at business meetings.
Utiful is available as a free download in the Google Play Store with extra features available as in-app purchases.
