Dr. Fone recovers lost iOS data

4/25/2015

If you’ve been using an iPhone or iPad for a few years, it’s a good bet that at some point you lost a boatload of important data. When a phone breaks or disappears, all too often photos and other treasured files disappear with it.

But don’t let anyone tell you that your stuff is gone forever, at least not before you try recovering it with Dr. Fone.

The program is available in versions for Mac or Windows and it works with iPhone models from the 3G through the 6, the iPod Touch 4 and 5 and all iPad models.

According to the Dr. Fone publisher, the program will recover data lost from a variety of events including a factory reset, system crash or ROM flashing. It will find and capture data such as call history, contact details and text messages. Users can also preview recoverable files before finishing the job.

Even if you don’t have access to your iOS device, Dr. Fone will attempt to recover files from an iTunes backup.

You can download a free demo version of the software at Dr. Fone’s website. The full version costs about $100.
