ALA offers technical translation services

4/25/2015

A 1991 Japanese video game called Zero Wing contained a phrase that became the most widely-circulated example of poor translation: “All your base are belong to us.”

The phrase had a long life as an early Internet meme, but I’m betting the game developers would have gladly skipped all the laughter and ridicule.

Goofs like that keep All Language Alliance in business. The company offers technical translation services for clients in a wide range of industries. Their projects include manuals, government regulations, medical records, training materials, fact sheets and product information leaflets.

The service can handle more than 100 languages translating to or from English. Languages that are requested most often include Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Norwegian, Polish, German, French, Korean, Hebrew, Spanish, Swedish, Greek, Dutch and Arabic.

In addition, All Language Alliance says it can provide translators who are certified by the American Translators Association, and interpreters who are certified to work in American courts.

The company offers free project quotes on the All Language Alliance website and you can follow @lawtranslation on Twitter.
