Android wallpapers that save battery power

7/09/2016

What’s gobbling up the battery power on your mobile phone or tablet? It could be the bright images you use as wallpaper. Android devices that have an AMOLED screen need higher levels of power to display bright images than they do for darker ones.

Darkops is a collection of high-resolution black images that are designed to look good while reducing power consumption.

The people who created the app say that using their wallpapers can increase screen time up to 15 percent.

The app can be installed on any Android device that has an AMOLED display. The wallpapers are sorted into 10 categories that include Patterns, Nature, Landscapes, Buildings and Super Heroes. The app installs a wallpaper with one click and users can make a list of their favorite images.

The app is free to download and use but in includes occasional advertising. For a closer look, check out Darkops in the Google Play Store.
