AppyBuilder offers easy route to app creation

5/08/2016

The conventional business wisdom once held that only the largest online sellers, companies like Amazon, Macy’s or Best Buy needed to have a dedicated mobile app. And back then only the most well-heeled companies could to afford to create an app.

Today many small business advisors say that businesses of any size should consider moving beyond having just a mobile-friendly website. An app, they say, will make a company more accessible and build brand loyalty.

App creation has also become more affordable with services like AppyBuilder offering packages that eliminate the need for hand coding by high-priced programmers.

AppyBuilder uses a component approach that lets users pick and choose the functions they want, the drag and drop them onto a template. Examples of available components include GalleryViewer,  ListPicker, TextBox, maps and date and time pickers. Builders can also drop in banner and interstitial ad components to take advantage of ad servers like AdMob, Amazon and Millennial Media.

The basic app-building toolbox is available for free on the AppyBuilder website. A more robust collection is priced at $8 per month.
