Amber Weather Widget delivers current and historical data

4/22/2016

I’m old enough to remember the time when you had to dial a phone number if you wanted an immediate weather forecast. Not very convenient or reliable.

Today, weather details are as close as close as your mobile phone. And, if you use an Android phone or tablet, the Amber Weather Widget can put them right on your home screen.

Amber Weather provides both current conditions and daily or hourly forecasts based on your current location or another location anywhere in the world.

The widget also can be customized to suit your preferences. Maybe you want the current temperature, humidity and UV index, but don’t care so much about wind speed or atmospheric pressure. And it delivers severe weather alerts and tips based on your location and current conditions.

The latest Amber Weather version includes a new feature called Climate Overview. It uses data collected for the past 30 years to get a general picture of the weather conditions in a selected location place. If you plan to be in Brazil this summer for the Olympics, you can get a snapshot of typical temperatures and precipitation for a specific time period.

To get a closer look or to download the Amber Weather Widget, visit the Google Play Store. The app is free and users can get an ad-free version by entering a subscription.
