Coloring book app helps adults chill

6/20/2016

When our grandchildren get wild and crazy, we get out the crayons and coloring books. With a creative task to focus their energies on, they soon get calm and quiet.

It turns out that same approach also works for adults. Psychologists quoted by CNN, Best Health Magazine and other sources say coloring, like yoga or meditation, has a de-stressing effect because it helps us focus on a particular activity instead of our daily worries.

And adults who don’t want to carry around a collection of books and colored pencils can now color mandalas, geometric patterns and other designs on their mobile phones or tablets with a free app for iOS or Android devices with Stress Relief Coloring for Adults.

The app contains galleries of animals, flowers, ocean creatures, ancient Egypt culture, mandalas, and other designs, each with intricate details.

An Inspiration section presents a variety of coloring options and the user’s finished work can be shared on Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.

The app is available for free in the iTunes App Store, the Google Play Store and the Amazon App Store. Check the video below to see how the app works and follow @SRColoringApp on Twitter.
