Simpla beats templates for easy websites

7/13/2015

From the day I wrote my first HTML tag, I was convinced there had to be a better, easier, and smoother way for us to produce and manage attractive web site and pages. Templates got us part way there, but templates are often tied to servers or platforms like WordPress.

Simpla may be the ultimate solution. It’s billed as content as a service. It takes a project - a collection of text, images and data - and turns it into an appealing set of hyperlinked pages.

Simpla does not require installation on a host, yet you still own your whole stack. It functions without forms or an admin dashboard. You can turn a page into a rich dynamic site by inserting a single script tag and then everything is edited seamlessly inline.

If that sounds a little too much like science fiction, you might want to try the live demo on the Simpla website and sign up for the private beta. When the finished product is launched, prices will range from free to $179 for business use.

You can keep up with the pre-launch activity on the Simpla Facebook page and @simplaio on Twitter.
