This may be overkill for nightime walks with the dogs, but I know I could get a lot of use out of the SportsTek LED Headlamp. Biking after dark. Rummaging in the nether reaches of the basement and attic. Camping with the kids. Doing whatever needs to be done after a storm knocks out the electricity.
The SportsTek headlamp isn't one of those cheap battery-powered headlamps with a puny light. It pumps out 200 lumens of bright white light that covers almost 700 feet. But it can be dialed down to a lower level for working on laptop or reading an ebook. And it runs on a rechargeable battery pack, so it's always good to go.
Want to know more? Read the customers raves posted on amazon.com where the lamp is currently on sale for $79.95. Here's one example: "I love being able to control how much light I need, and that this can clip into many different areas which come in very handy."
